The site
Fondation Tanger Med is the social development arm of the Tanger Med port group, recognised as a public utility organisation. It runs education, training and regional development programmes in the communities around the port — supporting local centres, tutoring programmes, and awards for arts graduates.
Its website is where those programmes are published and explained. I was the I worked on this site as part of the team at FORNET.
What the project involved
A foundation publishes programmes, not products. The content model is built around initiatives, partnerships and the places they operate in, rather than services or a catalogue. Each programme has partners, locations, beneficiaries and its own timeline, and those relationships need to be real entity references so the same information can appear in several places without being maintained twice.
Reporting matters to this kind of organisation. A public utility foundation publishes what it has done and who it reached. That content has to be structured enough to present consistently year after year, not rebuilt by hand each time.
A mixed audience. Local communities looking for a programme, institutional partners assessing credibility, and the parent group's own stakeholders. The information architecture has to serve all three from one site.
A French-language site. Unlike most of the institutional work, this one runs in a single language — which removes the translation workflow but puts more weight on getting the content model right first time.
